If you’re one of the approximately 100% of humans who love Mexican food, then learning how to make it yourself is the next step. In this Puerto Vallarta travel vlog, we do a Mexican cooking class to find out how our favourite dishes come together. We first walk to a market to buy fresh food supplied by local farmers and pick up vegetables, fruit, chicken, fish, and cheese. We meet a man selling grasshoppers, which are a popular snack, so we decided to give them a try. Then we stop by a tortilla factory where we try a tortilla so fresh it’s almost too hot to hold. Chef Julio Cesar of Gaby’s Restaurant guides us all the way. After shopping, we cook on the veranda with a view of the ocean and palm trees. It’s really fun to see fresh ingredients go from the market to the table and all the steps in between. If you already love cooking, like me, then a class like this is a no brainer. But, even if you don’t typically love being in the kitchen, a class like this is a great opportunity to connect with Mexican culture in a delicious way.
