There are countless bars, discos, night clubs and antros in Puerto Vallarta. Here you will find entertainment such as live music with local bands, local pubs and international pubs to make you feel right at home no matter where you come from! You don't have to miss out on your favorite sports and sporting events during your vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Our many sports bars will make you feel right at home as you cheer on your favorite sports team from Puerto Vallarta. These include NBA games, NHL, NFL, soccer, the Olympics and much more!
If you're looking for all the action, look no further than the downtown "Centro" Malecon neighbourhood. This area encompasses the most popular hangouts; Hilo, Mandala, Senor Frogs, La Vaquita, SKY, Roo and the newly renovated downtown party hot spot club accurately named Zoo. You're certain to have a wild time here!
If you're looking for a cluster of fantastic clubs, here are three of the best downtown venues conveniently located side by side: Mandala, Zoo and La Vaquita. You will find these clubs on the street Diaz Ordaz. Two other noteworthy places nearby are Roo (formerly Glam) and Punto V. These upscale clubs are also considered restaurants/discotheques located on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta. For something a little bit different, La Bodeguita del Miedo is a restaurant/bar that offers excellent live Cuban and Salsa music. Love Jazz? La Dolce Vita Italian restaurant has live jazz Wednesdays and Fridays. For an authentic Mexican experience, complete with mariachi musicians, visit La Chata, El Andariego and La Distilleria. In the mood to rock out, check out BeboTero, Paradise Burger and Senor Frogs for their daily rock anthems. Another alternative is Wing's Army; they have live rock, ska and reggae for your enjoyment.
For a night of fun and affordability, consider going to the Cheeky Monkey or Bar Oceano. These two restaurants are located side by side and offer spectacular views of the Malecon. Not only can you get a nice American style meal here... You can drink, drink and drink their $1 beers and margaritas until you hit the floor! Bar Oceano is the Cheeky Monkey's twin in a lot of ways (they are also next door neighbors!). Their menu offers more traditional local food, the décor is beach inspired but the rest remains the same. The staff is great with groups and students coming to Puerto Vallarta for Spring Break and their $1 beers and margaritas will have you dancing on the table before you know it! South of the downtown area, across the Cuale River, you will find some great unique nightlife. Located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, right across the bridge into Old Town, there's never a dull moment at Roxie's. The stage is the focal point of this bar with its amazing live bands. You'll hear all of your favorite songs from modern pop, rock, oldies and even reggae. Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes; the floor is open and inviting! Bolero is a treasure, a hole in the wall. The kind of place you can pass by without even noticing its existence. Bolero is located right next door to Roxie's. Here you can play a friendly (or competitive) game of pool against one of the many regulars that come to this bar. Don't forget to ask about the daily drink specials! Tips and tricks: ALWAYS check prices before ordering. If there is no advertised price, make sure you ask your server before you order. If you plan to open a tab, count your drinks and ensure that your total bill is correct. In Puerto Vallarta, we always recommend paying in cash, preferable pesos. In general US dollars are exchanged for an unfavorable rate at bars. You are expected to tip your waiter, this is highly encouraged since wages are low in Puerto Vallarta and many depend on tips. Dress codes will vary from place to place. Club wear is recommended for a night out on the town, dressing up a bit goes a long way. In general, the only restriction you may find at higher end clubs is a no shorts, no caps and no t-shirts policy. These clubs may have a cover charge; this will range from 100-400 pesos.
