Digital nomads love Puerto Vallarta. PV is one of the best cities in Mexico for digital nomads. If you are to combine rent prices, eating out, work, and quality of life, Puerto Vallarta definitely tops the list of the best digital nomad destinations in Mexico.
There are also so many things to do in Puerto Vallarta that draws digital nomad adventurers to this area. You can find awesome and clear beaches, water activities, PV also known as a hiking paradise.
As there are a lot of digital nomads and established expats, you’ll find it easy to make friends in Puerto Vallarta right away.
When you choose PV as your base, you will have the opportunity of living in the city while living the beach life. This is such a great combination.
COMMUNICATION AND CONNECTION
It’s super easy to connect with other digital nomads through Facebook groups.
INTERNET
The internet in Puerto Vallarta can be hit or miss, but there are many places where you can find fast Wi-Fi. You can also get a SIM card in Mexico with the Internet, which can be a good backup by using it as a hotspot to your computer.
CO-WORKING SPACES
There are some coworking spaces and a great deal of cute cafes with delicious coffee and fast WiFi. For example, Cowork Natureza and Vallarta Cowork. Vallarta Cowork offers monthly memberships for $145. In PV are a lot of stylish and pretty cafes with good internet, where you can spend some hours working.
LANGUAGE
PV is a touristic place and there won’t be a problem to live without Spanish. Of course, having some knowledge of the language will definitely enrich your experience. PV is a good place to start learning Spanish, personally I learn Spanish with Ademia Spanish, but if you want, there are a lot of offers with private lessons or in groups. You can learn language and make new friends!
LIFESTYLE AND ACTIVITIES
PV is the best place to live an active and healthy life. There are plenty of different activities which will cost you some money and a lot of free activities as well.
COST OF LIVING AS A DIGITAL NOMAD
Mexico is an affordable country to live in. Your exact cost of living will depend on your lifestyle, but most Puerto Vallarta digital nomads spend about 1000-2000 USD a month. Renting will be the biggest expense for you. Eating and drinking out is very affordable, groceries are very affordable too. And in PV there are plenty of things to do for free, that is why digital nomads love this place.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is also great. There are plenty of public buses that will take you all over the city. Each ride is 10 pesos. Uber is also there.
SAFETY
Puerto Vallarta is a friendly, fun and safe place to visit that welcomes millions of tourists every year who have a great time. It is one of the main tourism destinations in the country, crime rates are much lower than in other parts of Mexico. Like any city, you should take some basic safety precautions to avoid petty theft.

Why did I move to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Canada?

In today’s video I want to tell you my story why I decided to move to Mexico in 2021.
Of course, the first question is WHY MEXICO? I have many reasons why I chose Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to live in.
Since the country is rather affordable, a lot of Canadians look to move there to get a different taste of life. Just keep in mind that you are entering a brand new country with a completely different culture and traditions, be open to this new experience and welcome it.
What to expect from Mexico? It won’t be the same as living in Canada but it will be an unforgettable experience. Mexico has a diverse and rich culture, scenic beauty with amazing food, and friendly people.
LET’S SEE THE REASONS WHY I CHOSE MEXICO.
You can find in Mexico all that you need for a good and healthy life. Of course, after living in Mexico for one year I know more and more, I know where to buy the best food, where to find the best prices for renting an apartment, I know the best places to relax and spend all day with friends by the beach, I know the best restaurants and cafes and much much more.
My lifestyle and opportunity to work remotely. I decided to simplify my lifestyle and move to Mexico. After 2020 everything changed in our lives and after this year working remotely is affordable and much easier. If I can do everything remotely, why not move to a paradise such as Puerto Vallarta? It was one of the best decisions of the last few years.
Cost of living in Mexico is very affordable after Canada. In comparison to Canada, the cost of living is significantly lower in Mexico by almost 50%. Whether we talk about food, housing, transportation, entertainment, personal care, or even clothing, Mexico is significantly cheaper.
Affordable housing can be found everywhere. Naturally, beach properties cost the most. Whether you rent or buy or even build your own home, you can afford to live in Mexico. And the property taxes are silly cheap, sometimes only a few hundred dollars per year.
Excellent and affordable healthcare is one of the biggest benefits to a life in Mexico. In Mexico, visiting a doctor, dentist, or buying prescriptions is affordable for almost anyone. Even without insurance. You will pay just $50 to see a doctor.
One of the main determining factors for me was that Mexico has a pretty good climate. PV is a paradise with palm trees, white-sand beaches and clear and warm ocean. The weather all year round is not lower than +20 or 68 °F. The coldest month is February with the temperature 21.8 °C (71.3 °F) and the warmest month is August 28.6 °C (83.4 °F).
Mexico, especially Puerto Vallarta, is a very safe place to live in. I wouldn’t live in Mexico if I didn’t feel safe. The reality is that the city of Puerto Vallarta is actually one of the safest destinations in all of Mexico, and thousands of travelers from around the world safely enjoy everything in this amazing destination.
