Renting an apartment or a house. Prices vary depending on area and size. For example, you can rent a studio starting with $300, but it won’t be by the beach, if you want to rent a studio near the ocean the price can start from $430. The average rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Puerto Vallarta is about $800, also you can find it for $500

Cost of Bills and Utilities. Months for electricity, gas, water, and garbage pickup cost approximately $100. For example, I live in a 1-bedroom apartment and for all utilities I pay about $100 a month.

Activities. Around $30 for the cost of a gym membership, private yoga or Pilates class costs around $25, surfing class $35, you can rent a SUP board for $10. But there are a lot of free activities like swimming, snorkeling, hiking, walking or you can take your mat and do your work out on the beach. Perfect!

Health insurance. In Mexico Puerto Vallarta healthcare is one of the biggest benefits. Private insurance in Mexico for expats costs around $60. It is really excellent and affordable.

Groceries and eating out. Mexican supermarkets are big, modern, and have excellent selection of food. I find all necessary products and supplements for myself. I spend around $400 a month on groceries.

Transportation. You don’t need a car in Puerto Vallarta because there are public buses with routes all over the Bay plus there are plenty of taxis and Uber is around. The local buses go everywhere in the city for about $0.50 cents.
