Residents of the beach resort town of Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco state were left clearing up the mess left by tropical storm Nora on Sunday.
Flooding, caused by heavy rain and winds, led to the overflowing of a local river and resulted in various damages to infrastructure and private property throughout the city.
The storm has claimed the life of a child, following the partial collapse of a building.
“The streets are clogged, the water has nowhere to go, my truck was ruined, the water reached the canopy, up until the roof, and as always, the people are doing what they can,” stated local resident Bernardo Invers.
Nora has shown signs of weakening on Sunday, having previously been monitored as a category one hurricane.

SOT, Carlos Trejo, Local resident (Spanish): “No, this incident is the average difficult thing, but here we are.”
SOT, Carlos Trejo, Local resident (Spanish): “Yes, eloquently, if they were considerable losses, we are going to have to wait and see what happens, rebuild things ourselves, there is no other choice.”

Night life in Puerto Vallarta update for September 2021, some bars and clubs don’t follow the restrictions and are full capacity.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Cost of Living
Puerto Vallarta is a great place for expats, retirees and location independent nomads to live. There are city amenities, shopping opportunities and Nature lovers will find an abundance of riches, from lush tropical forests to wide sandy beaches. Travel and Leisure magazine named it “the friendliest city in the world.”
So how much does it cost to live in Puerto Vallarta? For less than $1,000 per month, it’s possible to live in a nice area within walking distance of the beach. $1,400 per month is comfortable. Most nomads and expats I know live within this range. For $2,000+ per month and you can live very well. In this video, I’ll break down these budgets in more detail and give you specific examples… I will talk with people living in each one of these price ranges and will tour apartments in these price ranges as well.
