Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast of Mexico is a popular holiday destination. The sandy beaches, lush vegetation and nearby waterfalls attracts tourists from both Europe and North America who spend their money in the five star hotels, luxury shops and gourmet restaurants. Now it can add another attraction to that list: gambling.
A few years ago, you would have been hard pushed to find anywhere to gamble in Puerto Vallarta but now casinos are an established part of the nightlife in the town which also includes clubs, bars, cabarets and the entertainment lounges of the five star hotels. And while gambling is not as extensive as in other countries (even online, with no review sites like http://www.bellerockentertainment.com in the country), there are some options.
If you’re used to gambling in the betting resorts of Europe or North America, the casinos in Puerto Vallarta may come as a bit of a culture shock. For one thing they’re not as big and glitzy as the ones in Las Vegas or Monte Carlo. But that doesn’t mean that you and your friends can’t still have a lot of fun playing the slot machines and other games in them. The first thing you might notice is the absence of gaming tables – the card games are of the electronic variety in all the casinos in Puerto Vallarta. But having said that, you’ll find that much about the casinos in Puerto Vallerta is a cut above casinos of a similar size in Europe or North America. The facilities are modern and well maintained and service is very impressive with reasonably priced drinks and snacks being served by friendly waitresses. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you’ll soon be enjoying yourself as you try your luck on the slot machines and the other electronic gambling games on offer in the casinos of Puerto Vallarta. These betting machines in Puerto Vallarta are pretty much the same as the ones you would see in North American casinos with mostly low stakes to be won, although high stakes gambling machines are also to be found in some of the Puerto Vallarta casinos. As already mentioned, none of the casinos in Puerto Vallarta offer gaming tables or the standard card games you normally find in casinos such as poker, blackjack or baccarat.
The latest casino to open in Puerto Vallarta is Emotion in the Galerias Vallarta shopping centre which you will see straight ahead of you if you disembark at the Port Authority terminal where the cruise ships dock. It’s also near the gleaming new apartment block Deck 12. The other casinos in Puerto Vallarta are the Casino Royal in the Plaza Caracol, Yak in the Plaza Peninsula and the Casino Foliatti in the small shopping mall at the northern end of the famous Malecón boardwalk in the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta.
If you want high stakes poker or roulette in glamorous surroundings, you might be better going to Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, Venice or try online gaming here: casino.netbet.co.uk. But if you want to bet for lower stakes in a relaxed environment, Puerto Vallarta could be the ideal holiday destination for you.

The annual 3-day Music Festival will be held Friday, Feb. 26th through Sunday, Feb. 28th in San Pancho’s Plaza del Sol. The Festival features regional, national and international artists on two alternating stages providing continuous entertainment for the audience.
The event begins at 5pm each day, with performances up until 11pm each night. A wide variety of food and beverage will be available for purchase in and around the Plaza. A limited number of tables and chairs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is recommended that visitors bring their own chairs or blankets.
The Festival began in 2001 in the backyard of a local resident, and has since grown into one of the most popular music events in the region featuring well over 25 groups and 100 musicians each year, that cover the gamut of musical genres, and traditions. The performers, organizers, and volunteers all donate their time and talents in order to make this event happen each year. It is this group spirit, along with the magical atmosphere of San Pancho, that has contributed to the town being recognized as the “Cultural Center of Riviera Nayarit".
We are excited to announce that this year’s Festival will feature a number of new acts from the US, and Canada. The Festival welcomes Kansas City pop group, “Maria the Mexican," award winning Canadian jazz pianist, James Gelfand, from Montreal, Quebec, guitarist Todd Boston, from San Francisco, CA, and jazz guitarist Rolf Sturm from the NYC area, who will be accompanying vocalist Jenna Mammina, who graced the stage two years ago. The San Pancho based group "Panta Rei” will be performing for the first time on the Festival MainStage, along with the band, Mataviejitas.
Festival favorites this year include Jeff Oster, who will be playing tunes from his latest, Grammy Nominated, CD. Steve O’Connor will perform with a new group, the ever popular Tatewari, as will San Pancho’s own Dave Fisher, “Frida’s Eyebrow”, and Geno Lamphiear. Saturday will feature a number of Mexican local favorites, hosted by Beto Gonzalez , including Fausto Robles, Los Compas, and Osvaldo, culminating in a dance party at 10pm with the Cumbia group, Huanacaxtle. Other guest artists who will be featured throughout the weekend include Martin Montenegro, Joe Hadlock, Tony Kovacic, Andy Crawford, Chas Eller, and more.
The Music Festival is supported by the generous donations of attendees, local residents, and businesses in San Pancho. Please follow the link on the Festival’s website to make your tax-deductible donation. CD’s and merchandise will be for sale at the Festival, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the performing artists.
Please come join us at The San Pancho Music Festival for three unforgettable days of music in one of the most beautiful regions of Mexico!
A schedule of the performers, along with their show times will be published on the Music Festival website, and on Facebook about one week before the Festival. Please visit the links below for more information:
