El lado norte está delimitado por el área del puerto y la terminal de cruceros (API, Area portuaria Integral de Puerto Vallarta) y corre hacia el sur a lo largo del borde de varios hoteles y condominios hasta llegar a Condominios Peninsula y al río Pitillal, donde se encuentra el extremo sur de Playa de Oro Puerto Vallarta.

Playa de Oro es una playa certificada con Blue Flag por lo que tiene muy aguas muy limpias, no hay descargas de agua contaminantes en la zona, además tiene arenas claras, olas suaves (la mayoría de las veces) y cumple una serie de requisitos ambientales y de sostenibilidad que aseguran su bienestar y disfrute, así como la protección de la naturaleza y la vida en la zona hotelera tanto en el mar como en tierra. Presenta aguas color verde esmeralda-azul y arenas claras y agradables.

El nombre de la playa proviene de las arenas doradas y uno de los primeros hoteles construidos en esta área de la ciudad, llamado Hotel Playa de Oro, fundado por Jack Cawood.

¿Dónde está Playa de Oro Beach?

Se encuentra a 15 minutos, 6 km, aproximadamente a 4 millas de la plaza principal en el centro de Puerto Vallarta. Se encuentra en lo que se llama la Zona Hotelera del Norte, la parte que corre al norte del río Pitillal y al sur de la Marina.

¿Cómo llegar a Playa de Oro?

Hay fácil acceso público a través de Av. Las Águilas, el que va por el lado norte del Hotel Krystal, con las grandes esculturas de papa, gire a la derecha en Las Garzas y luego a la izquierda en la calle Quetzal. Encontrará un pequeño y pintoresco mercado de artesanías, con pequeños recuerdos y cosas que podría necesitar en la playa, como protector solar y más.

Como se muestra en el video, también hay acceso desde el norte a través del área del puerto, siguiendo la pared norte del hotel Crown Paradise se llega a una reja donde se puede entrar durante el día.

The Puerto Vallarta northern hotel zone has a beach that runs along its edge, it’s called Playa de Oro (Gold Beach). https://pvmx.net/HotelZonePVR

The northern side is delimited by the harbor area and cruise terminal (known locally as API) and runs south along the edge of a number of great hotels and condos until it gets to the Peninsula Condominiums and the Pitillal river, where the southern end of Playa de Oro Beach is located.

Playa de Oro Beach is a certified Blue Flag beach, so it has very waters, there are no polluting water discharges in the area, plus it has clear sands, soft waves (most of the time) and follows a number of environmental and sustainability requirements that ensure your well-being and enjoyment as well as protecting nature and the life in the hotel zone both in the sea and on land. It features emerald-green-blue waters and inviting clear sands.

Where is Playa de Oro Beach?

It’s 15 minutes, 6km, approximately 4 miles from the main square in downtown Puerto Vallarta. It is located in what is called the Northern Hotel Zone, the part that runs north of the Pitillal River and south of the Marina.

How to get to Playa de Oro Beach?

There’s easy public access through Av. Las Águilas, the one that goes along the north side of Hotel Krystal, with the big potato sculptures, turn right on Las Garzas and then left on Quetzal street. You’ll find a small picturesque arts and crafts market, with little souvenirs and things you might need at the beach, including sunblock and more.

As shown in the video, there’s also access from the north through the harbor area, following the northern wall of the Crown Paradise hotel you get to a gate, where you can walk in during the daytime hours.
