I stayed at the carriage house for the first time on my last trip to Mexico. We had a large group at Villa Estrella Mar, and so we got the best of both worlds being able to take full advantage of everything the villa has to offer, but still being able to retreat to our own private apartment! The carriage house has everything you need, and we were thankful for the air-conditioning and the “cleaning fairies” who cleaned the rooms daily and even did our laundry! The place is so relaxing, and is nice and quiet yet so close to town. You could take a cab if you want, but walking is just as easy to get to all of my favorite restaurants (although if you have people staying at the Villa, the food there is just as wonderful as the restaurants in the area). There is a private staircase that leads you down to the beach which is great to have and the beach is great because there aren’t a ton of beach vendors or even tourists. No complaints with the property. I’d recommend it.
