Getting to meet Adriana when I first arrived really set the tone for a great PV vacation. She is a very nice, warm, personable lady that seemed genuinely touched by my love for all things PV and Mexico.
Being on a budget, price is always a significant factor and this was in my sweet spot at about the same price or even cheaper than some of the neighborhood budget hotels but with so much more to offer.
Casa Vizcarra is definitely located in more of a local neighborhood which is part of it’s charm. At no point did I get the “bad neighborhood” vibe at any hour. Good food nearby and an easy walk to the malecon, downtown and most of the great Old Town spots.
One thing worth noting for future guests is that there is no longer a “tienda” or mini-super located under Casa Vizcarra as mentioned in the website description. It is now a lavanderia, which is actually even better, so you can travel light and still be able to get laundry done quickly downstairs.
