I had some time off work in late August and thought I’d come down to Vallarta. I’ve stayed at the VdS several times in the past and always been happy.
Why do I like the Vista del Sol? First of all, it’s the location. You just can’t beat it: Right on the Beach, in Old Town. You can walk everywhere. No need for a rent a car or a taxi/uber. There’s a well stocked mini market a block away, and on the same block an Oxxo, a French Bakery, a lovely Sushi spot, and if ballroom dancing is your thing, there’s a venue for that as well. Two blocks away is the very popular bookstore/cafe, ” A Page in the Sun”. I could go on, but you get my drift.
To me, the best part of the VdS is the rooftop pool. It’s big enough to swim laps, has a fantastic view and no riff-raff. Plus as it’s on the roof, there are no shade issues and in season you can order up snacks and drinks from the restaurant downstairs.
The well appointed condos are spacious 2bed/2baths with ocean view terraces. They have full kitchens, A/C, WiFi and TVs in the bedrooms and living room. Housekeeping comes every day except Sunday (be sure to tip) and are friendly and cheerful, as is the staff at the front desk. If you need anything handled or fixed, they are on it, right away.
